Roots of Secularism in Sudanese Politics

This article traces the roots of secularism in Sudanese politics back to British colonialism, detailing four distinct methods used to implant it—from exploiting religious and sectarian leaders and armed groups to infiltrating Islamist movements and finally openly advocating for it. Despite these historical efforts, the article argues that secularism has been firmly rejected by the Sudanese people, who hold it responsible for the country's divisions and crises. The text concludes that the definitive solution is the complete uprooting of secularism and the re-establishment of the Islamic Caliphate (Khilafah Rashidah).
